I saved Bert from a spider tonight. This means a lot because A) I don't like spiders and B) I'm obsessed with Bert.

Mr Sun came out to play

BLUE SKY

I like looking up at the sky. I like trees without leaves. You'll soon get to know that about me. I am also most likely to step in dog poo or gum because of those aforementioned fascinations.

Shall we dance?

DANCING SHOES

Got my dancing shoes ready for a film shoot next weekend. I'm playing Kitty Kat - a quirky, bubbly, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed young lady; who likes turtles, bonsai trees and tango.

A random act of procrastination resulted in eggplant wedges (Master Chef, here I come)... Meet Pluto, my dog... Ok, so I don't really have a dog, it's just a picture of a cute doggie on the bag that my Peter Alexander goodies came in... And unbelievable, but true - people working out at the gym late at night... Who are these people?!

All by myself

IN THE SHADOWS
camera: Kodak Flash Camera (disposable)
taken: Melbourne, VIC - March 2009

With my previous post about shadows, I decided to dig up this old image. It was taken last year, and was in fact exhibited in a gallery (one of my goals which I successfully accomplished last year!). I like the moodiness captured by the lone light casting a shadow over the girl's face, surrendering her faceless. Who is she and what is she doing all by herself in the dark? We are all story tellers... so, you tell me?

Who are you? Who am I?

SHADOWS
camera: iPhone, Hipstamatic Application
lens: Kaimal Mark II
film: Ina's 1969
taken: Elsternwick, VIC - 18th June 2010

Shadow's are rather fascinating. What exactly is a shadow? What exactly does it represent? This shadow is of me, but looks nothing like me. Which got me thinking... Who am I, who are you, who are we? What we put out there for the world to see is not always what we are on the inside. Do we ever really know someone? Chances are, probably not - I mean we can know someone inside out and how they will react and what they will do or say, but still, even those people can and will surprise us. Sometimes I wonder if I really know who I am, myself; and because of this, I like the idea of a shadow - it can be anything you want, it's completely up to your imagination.

My name is Spasil

THE BIRD

And I am a spas... Spas likes one on one time with the mirror, sitting on your head and nibbling at your food. Question of the day: What do birds do when it rains? Do they just get wet?

It's a hurricane, I'll go to the beach.

DON'T FENCE ME IN
camera: iPhone, Hipstamatic Application
lens: John S
film: Kodot Verichrome
taken: Brighton Beach, VIC - 17th June 2010

Despite Melbourne's rather torrential weather today, I was adamant about taking a photo at the beach. So I did. Now, there is no right or wrong way to take a photo, but most would photograph the Brighton Bay beach houses from the front in all their colourful glory, right? No, not me. I prefer from behind, through a fence, with the ocean in the background. I do things differently.

The Kid

THE KID
camera: iPhone, Hipstamatic Application
lens: John S
film: Kodot Verichrome
taken: East Bentleigh, VIC - 16th June 2010

I find children so fascinating and inspiring. Their creativity, imagination, energy, inquisitiveness, ignorance and naivety is sometimes something I am very jealous of. The ability to be in their own captivating world, then mum calls out "dinner's ready" and within a split second, they've forgotten everything and are consumed by the next adventure. As an actor, I look to children for inspiration with their ability to simply 'be in the moment'. Although I've had arguments with people about this, I believe that if you peel back the layers of every adult, you will find a little child inside. We've just merely learnt how to say, act and think like an adult... Oh, and who is this photo of? Well I'm a part-time nanny and this is the little kid I look after. I assure you, he does have a right hand. His left hand however, well we lost that on the way to school one morning.
