take a seat...

I went through a period were I saw mattresses on the side of every street. Then I went through a period of seeing couches everywhere. The latest was an array of armchairs. I found this one on the footpath in New York City. Had I have lived in NYC, I would have taken it home.

a spring in your step

Spring has sprung. Ok so it's the first of September and I can't see Mr Sun, but the flowers are blooming. Spring is fun. Spring means birthday time and lots of cake. Oh no. Spring means getting a year older...

Angelina Jolie's lips in my hands

Oh. Yes. That. Pout.

True story. My fabulously talented friend was in town from abroad... and on her little trip down under, she brought with her a part of Ange as well as a miniature armature of Mr Fox, who truly was Fantastic.

top hat

Going through my, probably thousands, of photos and stumbled across this ol' one. I admit, I don't necessarily take the best digital photos (I'm a massive toy camera fanatic). However, what I love about this is the lighting and shadows and simplicity of the subject. The vignetting is not by photoshop, it's all in camera! Yes, the beauty of TTV Photography - taking a photo with your digital 'Through The Viewfinder' of an old school camera. Here, I shot through the viewfinder of my trusty and much loved Holga CFN.

I'll make a good housewife one day

Yesterday I baked some brownies. Nice, moist and yummy (that sounds wrong) chocolate brownies with chunks of macadamias and white chocolate! Went down a treat :) ... In fact, I might go have one now with a nice hot cuppa tea!

Remembering the happy (translation: yummy) times of my recent trip... The American's really know how to eat cookies and ice-cream! I chose strawberry ice-cream in between a choc-chip cookie and a Snickers cookie. YUM.

Hello Liberty

Today's adventure: Survive NYC on $20. Result: Success! I visited the
Statute of Liberty, Central Park Zoo, went on a Central Park bike
ride, finished the day with an ice-cream treat, AND had 19cents to
spare!

These walls, or what's left, once housed the production of Australian low budget feature claymation film, MARY AND MAX, from Melanie Coombs and Adam Elliot, the Academy Award® winning creatives of HARVIE KRUMPET. I spent over a year of my life with both Mary and Max. They didn't talk much.

PS. My claim to fame is as Toni Collette's uncredited sex sound noise double. Yes. True story.

And unbelievable, but true - people working out at the gym late at night... Who are these people?!

All by myself

IN THE SHADOWS
camera: Kodak Flash Camera (disposable)
taken: Melbourne, VIC - March 2009

With my previous post about shadows, I decided to dig up this old image. It was taken last year, and was in fact exhibited in a gallery (one of my goals which I successfully accomplished last year!). I like the moodiness captured by the lone light casting a shadow over the girl's face, surrendering her faceless. Who is she and what is she doing all by herself in the dark? We are all story tellers... so, you tell me?

Who are you? Who am I?

SHADOWS
camera: iPhone, Hipstamatic Application
lens: Kaimal Mark II
film: Ina's 1969
taken: Elsternwick, VIC - 18th June 2010

Shadow's are rather fascinating. What exactly is a shadow? What exactly does it represent? This shadow is of me, but looks nothing like me. Which got me thinking... Who am I, who are you, who are we? What we put out there for the world to see is not always what we are on the inside. Do we ever really know someone? Chances are, probably not - I mean we can know someone inside out and how they will react and what they will do or say, but still, even those people can and will surprise us. Sometimes I wonder if I really know who I am, myself; and because of this, I like the idea of a shadow - it can be anything you want, it's completely up to your imagination.

My name is Spasil

THE BIRD

And I am a spas... Spas likes one on one time with the mirror, sitting on your head and nibbling at your food. Question of the day: What do birds do when it rains? Do they just get wet?
